Our Winemaking philosophy
Ever wonder why some wines tastes the same, bottle after bottle, year after year? Go to the factories where these wines are made, and you’ll soon understand why. Tanks labeled, wine, water, alcohol, flavor compounds, tartaric acid, and “purple” line the floors. Ingredients are blended and passed through Mass Spectrometers to create the same characteristics time and time again. This is their niche, and they are producing for their market.
Our wines, on the contrary, are honest. We make all of our wines in the style that the vineyard gives us that year. We follow simple, time-honored techniques to produce unique vintages that are sure to bring warmth to your heart, joy to your senses and a smile to your face.
Our Vineyard
“Good grapes make good wine and it’s a winemaker’s job to not mess it up!”- Lum Eisenman
Our goal in our vineyard is to produce good fruit. Quality over quantity. Many factors combine to make this happen. Site, soil, water, elevation, viticultural practices and primarily what nature brings our way. A lot of hard work and tireless hours go into growing what we hope to become those ‘good grapes’. We practice sustainable farming techniques, using only organic methods for fertilization and disease control. Locally sourced mulch is added each year to minimize water use, add biodynamic elements and rejuvenate the soil. We strongly believe we are to care for that which has been placed under our stewardship.
